T-fal Cookware sent me a load of goodies at no cost and tonight was the night to try out the Chopper.
We defrosted organic ground beef, put a pot of salty water on to boil, and pulled out the pasta, jarred sauce and a handful of pantry ingredients: pecorino (Parmesan would be fine but it’s literally what we had), an egg, panko bread crumbs, a clove of garlic, parsley from the garden+salt and pepper.
We tossed it all inside the T-fal Chopper, secure the top, and pulled the handle.
It works like a lawnmower but incredibly easy to pull.
After 5-6 pulls, we peeked in, added another tablespoon of breadcrumbs and whirred again.
We hand formed meatballs and popped them in the freezer to firm up. This is an optional step but it makes pan frying so much easier.
While the meatballs chill out, we put the pasta in the rolling water and readied a pan with some shimmering olive oil.
Perfectly chilled and portioned for 1-2.
We pan fried the meatballs, made sure they were 145F, and voila, 5 minute meatballs.
Mix pasta, sauce and garnish with fresh parsley and that’s an easy, #Semi_Handmade meal in less than 12 minutes!
The best part? Clean up took about 15 seconds with a rinse with warm, soapy water. It would take me longer to assemble my food processor, let alone clean it!
A perfect meal for 1-2, just double for a family of four!
5 Minute Meatball Recipe
- 1/4lb lean ground beef
- 1 egg (still use 1 egg if doubling recipe)
- 1-2T piece of pecorino or Parmesan
- 3T panko-style bread crumbs
- 3 full sprigs of flat leaf parsley, no need to chop!
- Salt+pepper to taste
Pop into your easy-clean T-fal Chopper. Whir 6-8 times until your desired consistency, but don’t over process or your meatballs will be tough!
Pan fry turning frequently for ~3 minutes to internal temperature of 145F.
